15-Minute Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta

Boil salted water and cook the spaghetti until it's just shy of done. Save a mug of pasta water, then drain.

Pat the shrimp dry, season them, and sear in 1 tablespoon of butter for 1 to 2 minutes a side. Pull them out before they get rubbery.

Turn the heat down. Add the rest of the butter, the garlic, and the pepper flakes. Stir for about a minute. Don't let the garlic brown.

Add the pasta, 1/2 cup pasta water, lemon zest, and half the Parmesan. Toss until it looks glossy.

Put the shrimp back in. Finish with lemon juice, parsley, and the rest of the Parmesan. Add more pasta water if it feels tight.
